Set up how your plan looks

How your plan looks is yours to set. The Settings panel holds the switches that change the plan without changing the garden.

1. Open Settings

In View mode, open the Settings panel at the bottom of the right-hand rail. Its switches only change how the plan is drawn, never the garden, so try any of them freely.

2. Realistic plants or drawn shapes

Realistic plants is on by default and free on every plan: each plant appears as a lifelike picture seen from above. Switch it off and you see drawn shapes instead, with your plants' own colours.

This one switch belongs to your account rather than to a garden, so it follows you to every browser, and anyone you share a garden with sees it the way you set it.

3. Name the plants on the plan

Switch on Plant labels to see each plant's name on the plan. As you zoom out, Declutter labels hides the names that would cover each other, and the biggest plants keep theirs.

4. See full size, and what grows beneath

Mature footprint draws a ring around each plant at the size it will reach once fully grown, so you can see whether young plants have room to fill out. Depth fading makes trees, then shrubs, see-through as you zoom in, so you can also see what grows beneath them.

Each of your gardens remembers these settings on its own, so one plan can keep its labels while another stays clean.
