Share your garden with a link

Send anyone a link and they can explore your garden on the real canvas, with no account and nothing to install. Sharing is free on every plan. You decide what visitors can do, and Seasonry+ lets you add the seasons, the bloom calendar and the sun path for them to explore.

1. Open Share in View mode

In View mode, open the Share tool on the right rail. Sharing is free on every plan, so the tool never carries a lock. The first time, the panel explains what a share is: visitors open a link and see your garden on the real canvas, where they can pan, zoom and tap a plant, but cannot change anything.

Press Set up sharing to start.

Free, but it needs an account Sharing costs nothing on any plan. In guest mode, though, Share asks you to link a Google account first: a guest’s garden lives only in this browser, so there would be nothing online for a visitor to open.

2. Choose what visitors can see

The first screen, About this garden, is optional throughout. Write a few words about the garden and visitors read them in a card at the top left of the page. The same screen lets you give the page its own title and choose the name you appear under, or leave it blank to stay anonymous. None of it is live yet: nobody can see the garden until you create the link.

Press Continue to reach What visitors can do. The free switches start switched on: Let them start their own copy, Start with plant labels showing, which visitors can still turn off, and Show the plant list.

Below them sits a Seasonry+ box: Bloom calendar, Show the sun path, Season picker and Opening month, which picks the month the garden opens in once the season picker is on. On a free plan these rows carry a lock. Visitors can use them only while you subscribe: if your plan ends they leave the page, and when you subscribe again they come back as you left them.

The sun path needs a direction Show the sun path works once the garden’s orientation is set in Compass. Until then the row says so, and visitors see no sun path.

3. Create and copy the link

Press Create share link. The panel’s header now reads Shared by link, with the link itself just below it: press Copy and send it however you like. Whoever receives it can pass it on. The garden is not in search, though, so only people who have the link can find it.

Open Share again later and you land straight on this screen, with your settings folded under Share settings, and a change there saves as you make it. You can also get here from the home screen: press ⋯ on the garden’s tile and choose Sharing…, which reads Share… until the garden has a link.

Stop sharing, at the foot of the panel, asks you to confirm and then turns the link off for everyone who has it. Your garden and its plants stay exactly as they are.

A stopped link stays stopped Share the garden again and it gets a new link, while the old one stays unreachable. Send the new link to anyone who should still see the garden.

4. What a visitor sees

The link opens in any browser, with no account and no separate app. The visitor sees your garden on the real canvas: they can pan, zoom and tap a plant to read about it, but they cannot change anything. The shared garden updates along with your own, so when you change the plan later, the same link shows the new version and you never need to send a new one.

Only the views you switched on appear on the page: Plants, Seasons, Bloom and Sun. With Seasons, the visitor can walk through the garden month by month and watch the planting change through the year.

If you let them start their own copy, Try this garden in Seasonry opens the garden as a copy of their own to move, replant and rename. Your garden does not change. With that switch off the button is not offered, and the visitor gets a way into Seasonry itself instead.

Their copy, to try A visitor without an account can try the copy straight away, and it lasts until they close the tab. Keep this garden saves it to an account of their own.

5. Share a watering plan too

A garden link is for looking. If someone is watering while you are away, the Vacation tool on the same rail makes a password-protected watering plan you can send them: which plants need water, how often, and where to find them, for the days of your trip. Vacation Mode is part of Seasonry+, and the next lesson walks you through it.
