Plant your first garden
The whole loop in one short lesson: name a plot, trace its outline, and drop your first plants. By the end you'll have a real garden saved to your account.
1. Create a new garden
From the home screen press the dashed Create a new garden tile at the end of your gardens and give it a name. You'll land on an empty canvas with a faint grid. Each large square is one metre on the ground, so everything you draw stays true to scale.
When the tile looks different At your plan’s garden limit that tile shows a padlock instead of a plus, and in guest mode it invites you to link an account first. On a phone there is no create tile at all: drawing a garden needs a bigger screen.
2. Trace the plot outline
The blank canvas offers three ways to map your plot: Draw it freehand with the pen, Enter measurements if you took them with a tape, or Trace it from a map, the recommended route, where you drop in a satellite screenshot and draw over it at true scale. Getting the rough size right matters more than perfect edges, and however you start, you can reshape it any time.
3. Drop your first plants
Open the plant catalog, choose a species and drop it on the canvas. Each plant is painted at the size you have recorded for it, so you can space things realistically from day one. The Footprint pill on the canvas bottom bar is off by default: switch it on and any plant recorded smaller than its grown spread picks up a dashed ring at that full size.
Crowding lives in the Overlaps tool The canvas does not mark crowded plants. Open Overlaps on the Edit rail to see every pair of trees or shrubs whose leaves would touch at full size, then move one or mark the pair intentional.
4. Your work saves itself
Every change is saved automatically. Head back to Home any time to see all your plans. Each garden is a tile drawn from its own plan, with its name and when you last touched it.
