Browse styles and make your own
Styles aren't just presets. Fork one, add the plants you love, and save it as your own reusable palette you can drop into any garden.
1. Open the Styles page
From the home screen, open the Styles card in the Where to next rail beside your gardens. The rail sits to the right of the garden grid on a wide window and stacks beneath it on a narrower one. The Styles page opens with every curated palette laid out as a card you can view or build from.
2. Start a style of your own
Want a palette that’s all yours? The New style card opens a three-step builder, Start, Add plants, then Review & name, where you hand-pick plants from the catalog and save them as a reusable style. Start asks the one question that shapes the rest: begin from scratch, or copy one of the eight built-in presets. Nothing is saved until the last step.
3. Build on a preset
Or start from a preset you like. Clicking anywhere on its card opens that style in filtered browse, which is free. Use as a starting point forks it instead: the builder opens on step 2, Add plants, with the preset’s plants already in, a Based on … strip and a Scope facet you can widen to the whole catalog. The preset itself is never changed. Use as a starting point is part of Seasonry+, so on free and guest accounts it isn’t shown at all and View fills the card footer on its own.
Building a style is Seasonry+ On free and guest accounts Build on is not shown at all, and the New style tile is there but locked: on a free account it points at pricing, in demo mode it asks you to link a Google account. Viewing the built-in presets stays free, and Seasonry+ holds up to three custom styles.
4. Add plants and save
On Add plants, clicking a card opens that plant to read; its + pill is what adds it, and the open plant’s footer toggles between Add to style and In your style · Remove. A pinned bar keeps count of what you’ve picked. When you’re happy, hit Review & name: check the A–Z tiles and the How it’s balanced card, keep or edit the pre-filled name, then hit Save style. Your new style joins Your styles, ready to reuse in any garden.
Tip Building a custom style is part of Seasonry+. On free and guest accounts Build on is not shown at all and the New style tile is there but locked, while viewing the eight built-in presets stays free. Seasonry+ holds up to 3 custom styles, and the builder shows how many of them you have used.
